After much pushback, it appears that Apple is finally coming to terms with hybrid work being the future.
At the recent TIME 100 symposium in New York, CEO Tim Cook said that remote work is the “mother of all experiments” and that while he values in-person interaction, hybrid models will likely become the norm.
However, he adds that this transition is a pilot study and companies are “trying to find a place that makes the best of both of these worlds.”
Apple has been one of many companies that has faced backlash from workers over its office-return policies, particularly in comparison to other tech giants.
The company recently began ushering workers back into the office, but paused its three-day requirement following a spike in Covid cases and to address employee criticism.
