81% Of Small Business Employees Feel Valued And Supported At Work

A new report from employee management software company Homebase supports the idea that small businesses are the backbone of the countryโ€™s economy.ย

According to the data, 50% of the U.S. GDP derives from small businesses, and this success is reflected in employee sentiment. In fact, the report shows 59% of small business employees have not considered quitting their job over the last year, compared to 46% of workers from large companies.ย ย

The report shows some of the top reasons that employees at small businesses are loyal include:ย ย

  • Being able to be authentic at work (53%)ย
  • Feeling supported and valued at work (81%)ย
  • Having a connection to their employer (35%)ย
  • Having an entrepreneurial spirit (39%)ย ย

โ€œThoughts and theories around the future of work have dominated media and social science for the past couple of years as weโ€™re undergoing a once-in-a-generation shift around expectations and opportunities,โ€ said John Waldmann, CEO and founder of Homebase.ย

โ€œWe want to shed light on the millions of people who support the daily experiences central to our communities. The workers at your favorite local business want to bring their authentic selves to work, find flexibility in their work, and feel human connection.โ€ย
