According to insights reported by The Telegraph, Workspace Group has entered into a 10-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Statkraft, Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy โ including hydro, wind, and solar power.ย ย
Under this agreement, a new solar panel farm in Devon, capable of producing a reported 22 gigawatts per year, will supply about two-thirds of the electricity needed for Workspace’s 77 offices across London and the South of England. The transition to renewable energy is set to begin in February.ย
Londonโs green office space projects have taken off in 2023. Bloomberg reports that an unprecedented 43 construction projects, amounting to 5.1 million square feet of space, broke ground in the city within the six months leading up to September 2023 โ with a key driving force being the increase in demand for environmentally friendly office spaces.ย ย
