A recent study by AXA Global Healthcare has shown that there is a rising trend of entire digital nomad families. The research, which surveyed 1,001 U.K. workers, found that a third of respondents (34%) would consider working remotely abroad with their family for a temporary assignment, according to Travel Daily Media.Â
The idea of working from anywhere is no longer just a solo dream. Many families are embracing the digital nomad lifestyle, seeking to break away from their usual routines while still earning a living.
Why are more families choosing this adventurous lifestyle? For many, the main motivation is improving their quality of life, the survey shows.Â
About 76% of parents in the survey believe that working remotely abroad would offer them a better lifestyle. Financial freedom also plays a role, with 56% of respondents saying that living and working abroad would give them more financial flexibility. Additionally, 33% believe that the experience would strengthen family bonds and improve relationships.
Of course, the digital nomad lifestyle isn’t without its challenges. Families must consider important factors such as education and childcare. Over 40% of parents in the survey cited access to education as essential for success while living abroad, and 26% said childcare support is crucial for balancing work and family life.
Healthcare is another key concern: 35% of parents expressed that having access to quality healthcare is a top priority, with 59% emphasizing the need for comprehensive medical insurance. Many also want access to medical evacuation services in case of emergencies.
Overall, while the digital nomad family lifestyle offers plenty of opportunities for adventure, it requires careful planning to ensure a smooth and rewarding experience. With the right resources and support, families can fully embrace the flexibility and freedom that come with working and living anywhere in the world.
