Meta is ramping up its advertising campaigns, this time allowing brands on Facebook and Instagram to run three-dimensional ads.
Through a partnership with ecommerce technology firm VNTANA, companies will have the ability to upload 3D models of products and create ads.
This marks another step towards rounding out how advertising in the metaverse may look like, according to Ashley Crowder, CEO of VNTANA.
“The metaverse is basically the spatial internet,” said Crowder. “It is a whole world of possibility that starts with having the right 3D models of your products.”
Meta has also teamed up with companies Modiface and PerfectCorp to enable beauty brands to run both 3D and augmented reality ads.
Through these new ads, users can have a more interactive experience with images of items that can be purchased. For instance, a user can view a handbag virtually in a much more realistic manner, rather than viewing a two-dimensional photo.
