Freelance marketplace Fiverr and media company Lonely Planet have revealed the findings of a survey that provides insight into Anywhere Workers.
Anywhere Workers are professionals who work remotely and travel from at least two locations throughout the year. The survey received responses from 1,400 Anywhere Workers across 67 nationalities.
However, despite their name, these professionals aren’t just your typical digital nomads.
In fact, 54% of Anywhere Workers stated they were remote workers, while 25% referred to themselves as Slomads, or remote workers that travel and stay in one or more locations for extended periods of time.
In terms of priorities when choosing a location to work from, Anywhere Workers cited cost of living, career opportunities for their family or anyone they are traveling with, and reliable internet connection as the most important.
According to the data, 90% of respondents stated that their income has increased or remained the same since becoming an Anywhere Worker.
The survey showed that the majority of Anywhere Workers worked in architecture/interior design, business intelligence, consulting, digital marketing, engineering, and IT.
“There has been a revolution in the way we work and where we work for millions of people around the world over recent years, and we can largely attribute this to the pandemic,” said Gali Arnon, Chief Marketing Officer at Fiverr. “More people from every walk of life are taking the opportunities that remote work and platforms like Fiverr, offer them to travel the world, and experience new ways of living.”
