Inflation has led society to seek out unique ways to cut down on overall costs. For some, this means looking for a place with a lower cost of living. 

A new ranking from human resources firm Mercer identifies the global cities with the highest cost of living using factors such as food and housing prices.

With more people working remotely than ever before, finding the ideal city to alleviate the burden of inflation may be the next future of work trend to make waves across the global workforce.

“One of the big things that happened as a result of the pandemic is that people woke up—and employers also woke up—and realized you can work from anywhere,” said Vince Cordova, a partner at Mercer’s CareerPractice group.
