Software company Oracle has revealed that it will be slashing jobs across its marketing and customer experience divisions.
This week, employees from various hierarchies were told that their jobs had been cut. This included junior sales employees, a division sales director, and more from its customer experience unit.
As a result of disappointing figures, Oracle restructured the unit in an effort to move past these efforts and find areas where jobs could be eliminated.
This news comes after Oracle began pivoting towards the healthcare industry to expand its audience. Just this year, the company purchased digital medical record company Cerner Corp. for $28.3 billion.
Oracle is one of many tech companies that are turning to layoffs in order to address falling stocks and discouraging earnings amidst the ongoing economic uncertainty.
