The National Law Center found that full-time working mothers earn 70 cents for each dollar a working father makes.

That amounts to around $18,000 less annually, leaving questions as to why women are experiencing the penalties of becoming parents. To combat this, some companies are taking matters into their own hands.

On August 26, WeWork announced a new partnership with working mom resource company Laddrr with the goal of helping moms return to the workforce.

Through the collaboration, WeWork will offer mothers access to hybrid and flexible jobs through Laddrr’s Talent Hub platform.

In addition to connecting moms with job listings from companies that offer hybrid roles, WeWork will offer Laddrr users with a 50% discount to its All Access membership.

“Research shows that maternal bias is the strongest kind of gender bias,” said Kirthiga Reddy, cofounder of Laddrr.

“It is imperative for managers to create welcoming environments where a woman doesn’t have to agonize about when to share pregnancy news and the potential negative implications. It’s time to rethink the future of work to provide an equal playing field for moms-to-be and moms at all stages.”
