What’s going on:

After President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law last August, a report from nonprofit Climate Power shows that over 100,000 clean energy jobs have been created across America.

These roles include electricians, mechanics, construction workers, technicians, as well as roles within the solar and electric vehicle manufacturing sectors.

How it’ll impact the future:

By 2030, the bill’s climate provisions aim to cut domestic carbon emissions from 2005 levels by at least 50% reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Analysis from the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst forecasts that the legislation will generate over 9 million green energy and climate-related job openings in the coming decade.
