Findings from a YouGov poll shows that nearly 40% of employees want the ability to work from home for at least some of the time moving forward — a sentiment that has been reflected across various other studies.
For many employees, adopting a work style that allows both in-office and at-home arrangements would be ideal and allow them to reap the benefits of both work environments.
Not only does research indicate that the majority of workers want this type of arrangement, it has also been shown to benefit organizations as well.
Companies who provide workers with the ability to adopt mixed working styles are more likely to attract top talent, enhance their engagement levels, improve employee satisfaction and wellbeing, and in turn, grow their overall productivity.
However, when considering how to outfit the physical office, leaders still need to be aware of their region’s Covid cases and what may be needed to create a safe environment. This can include adopting sensors that track occupancy levels, analyze temperature, measure Co2 in the air, and more.
Incorporating technology in the workplace should also successfully bridge the gap between in-person and remote workers to ensure that every person stays engaged, can collaborate, and help keep up with company culture.
