  • Texas-based Splash Coworking now includes telehealth in its membership through a partnership with iSelectMD.
  • In the first partnership of its kind, members of Splash Coworking can now benefit from consultations, treatments and prescriptions.
  • Founder, Carina Boston Pinales, says telehealth is a “forward thinking, accessible solution for our coworking members and others within our community.”

Splash Coworking has been selected as the first coworking space in the nation to include Telehealth in its membership through a flagship partnership with iSelectMD.

Each time a Splash member or one of their family members use iSelectMD versus delaying medical care, on average they save up to $366.

iSelectMD, founded in 2011, is a national telehealth company based in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In the past decade, the company has greatly improved access to care across the nation. “The patient will contact our call center to request a provider, a physician will call back within 20 minutes on average,” Michael laquinta, President, and Founder of iSelectMD, said.

“Our doctors review your medical history, and they will consult, diagnose, plan treatment and, if appropriate, give a prescription. This can eliminate an unnecessary visit to an urgent care center and the exposure in a waiting room when a call will suffice.”

While more severe medical needs would still require physical visits to a physician or to a hospital, telemedicine is extremely helpful in situations like sinus infections, colds, and in diagnosing COVID-19 symptoms. “By catching illnesses early, we’re able to provide treatment faster so you’re not sick as long,” Iaquinta said. “How many times have you not sought out health care because of cost or convenience?” Telemedicine is not only cheaper from the patient perspective, but Iaquinta said it reduces general medical costs in the industry as well.

Having such technology available to the coworking population in Central Texas is significant, as it is the first partnership of its kind. Carina Boston Pinales, Founder of Splash Coworking, says:

“The #FutureofWork is rapidly shifting and so is the growing number of independent workers that are following in this shift. In 2019 the 41 million Americans who work as consultants, freelancers, contractors, temporary, or on-call workers generated $1.28 trillion of revenue for the U.S. economy, many of them do not have a viable healthcare solution. Telehealth is a forward thinking, accessible solution for our coworking members and others within our community.”

Splash Coworking is a central Texas shared workspace community and business pollinator. Splash is dedicated to bringing people together in the central Texas community and beyond by offering a space where members can support each other, move ideas from vision into reality, collaborate, and thrive.
