Online job review platform Glassdoor has revealed its Best Places to Work in 2022. 

Using reviews from current and former employees through Glassdoor’s “proprietary awards algorithm,” the company was able to compile at least 75 ratings per company from October 2020 and October 2021.

Ranked at number one was computer graphics manufacturer Nvidia, where the work was described as “challenging and meaningful.” 

Workers stated that the company’s compensation was “great” and that the culture was democratic.

“When you’re in a meeting, there is no hierarchy. It’s a free flow of ideas from everybody.”  

SaaS company HubSpot came in second, marking another technology company that is making a good impression on their employees. 

In fact, 40 of Glassdoor’s top 100 and half of the top 10 included Silicon Valley companies, such as Google that ranked number seven and Salesforce at number 10. 

According to the analysis, the biggest factor that appeared to impact employee happiness was corporate culture. More specifically, healthy culture was cited by workers across all top 10 companies.

This finding is stark, particularly as companies struggle to retain and attract new talent during the Great Resignation. Even more, research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management showed that toxic workplace culture was the leading indicator of employee attrition in 2021.
