Microsoft will slash thousands of jobs in the most recent round of massive tech layoffs.
According to reports, the job cuts will impact around 11,000 (5%) of the company’s workforce, mainly across its human resources and engineering teams.
“From a big picture perspective, another pending round of layoffs at Microsoft suggests the environment is not improving, and likely continues to worsen,” said Dan Romanoff, analyst at Morningstar.
As of June 2022, the company had 221,000 full-time workers. However, the company began to conduct layoffs last July due to a downturn in earnings and sales.
