Amazon Launches Free “AI Ready” Program To Train 2 Million People By 2025

Amazon launched an ambitious program called “AI Ready,” aimed at training at least two million people in artificial intelligence (AI) skills by 2025.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the program is part of Amazon’s strategy to compete in the intense talent race against other tech giants like Microsoft and Google — both of which have invested in their own generative AI tools.

The training is open to anyone and offers seven free courses on AWS Skill builder and one course through AWS Educate. that cover a range of AI skills, from basic to advanced concepts, including introductory courses on generative AI.

The initiative reveals the increase in competition and demand for AI skills in the modern workforce. As AI and machine learning become more integrated into various industries, the demand for skilled professionals in these areas is rapidly increasing. Amazon’s program is a response to this demand, aiming to nurture upcoming talent and upskilling opportunities in AI.

The move by Amazon is also reflective of a broader trend in the corporate world, where companies are increasingly taking the initiative to train workers in new technologies like generative AI. As the integration of AI into business workflows accelerates. Companies that invest in training their workforce in AI and related technologies are positioning themselves to be more competitive and innovative.

Amazon’s launch of free AI classes is a clear sign of the changing landscape of work and the growing importance of AI skills. For the workforce, this development means that continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies are becoming essential. The availability of free training programs like Amazon’s “AI Ready” will provide opportunities for workers to acquire new skills and improve their employability in the digital-first workforce.
