Job Seeker Confidence in the U.S. has significantly dropped, according to LinkedIn’s latest Workforce Confidence survey.
For both employed and unemployed job seekers, confidence to secure or keep a job now sits at +15, a level near the lowest since the survey’s inception during the pandemic. The previous low was recorded in April 2020 at +9.
Typically, job seeker confidence rises in January due to the new year’s optimism. However, this year saw a sharp decline, with confidence dropping 11 points from last January’s +31 to just +20.
These numbers mirror growing concerns that job seekers are facing longer timelines to land their next role.
The survey also revealed that over half of job seekers have been searching for six months or more, underscoring the challenges in today’s job market.
