National flexible workspace provider, BizSpace, is set to expand its portfolio with the development of a 55-office business centre in Bristol – a new area for the firm.
The firm has purchased Equinox South on Great Park Road, which was most recently occupied by Kerry Dairies.
BizSpace purchased the site for £1,550,000 and plans to spend the same amount on a full redevelopment, to create a bespoke business centre. The complex will be designed specifically to create a ‘home’ for small and startup businesses in the region.
All interiors will be stripped out to develop 55 managed office suites, ranging in space from 130 sq ft to 550 sq ft, which will be offered to rent in combination.
The exterior of the site will be remodeled and additional landscaping created.
This is BizSpace’s first location in Bristol, complementing nearby centres in Gloucester and Swindon.
BizSpace’s development director, Nick Smith, commented: “We are delighted to extend our network of business centres in the South West, using this opportunity to create an effectively new BizSpace in the booming Bristol out-of-town market.
“The site is extremely well located, at the junction of the M4 and M5, making it an ideal spot to operate a regional business with a Bristol base. It will be a perfect location for a wide range of businesses, offering impressive modern facilities.”
All offices will have their own external windows and ventilation, and contracts will be inclusive of maintenance, heating, management, broadband, phone lines and call packages. There is also a spacious on-site car park, which will be free of charge.
The centre will feature meeting rooms, a customer lounge, breakout areas, spacious kitchens and high spec toilets.
Commercial director at Bizspace, Emma Long, added: “Once complete, Equinox South will be a fantastic asset for the area and we expect overwhelming interest.
“The centre will be effectively built from scratch with the needs of start-ups and small businesses in mind, offering high quality and attractive business space at a fixed cost, making it easy to manage overheads.”
Work on the site is due to complete in October 2017. This is BizSpace’s first development project, having previously expanded its portfolio via acquisition. Nick Smith was appointed earlier this year to drive development.
