New York-based female-centric coworking community The Wing has opened a new headquarters in a recently renovated 19th-century historic landmark.
The building was originally constructed in 1854 as a care facility for ill German immigrants. The company took over the 22,000 square foot space in the East Village in order to move all of its staff under one roof as opposed to being spread out between different locations.
The new headquarters has the same The Wing touch: a communal kitchen, an open workspace, smaller nooks, lactation rooms, pastel color schemes, and an outdoor garden.
“Our new office is a testament to our company’s spirit — a magical and historic space that is both beautiful, functional and designed with our majority women staff in mind,” said cofounder Lauren Kassan.
