Interior landscape company Ambius has released its annual report that reveals the top office design trends for 2020.
The report finds that the start of the new decade will focus on understanding the human-centric workplace and work to boost employee wellbeing, integrate advanced technologies, provide multi-functional capabilities and offer an engaging environment for workers.
Furthermore, the upcoming year will include more community-centric workspaces and the inclusion of flexible amenities that provide employees with multi-functional spaces. Additionally, workspaces will lean towards a biophilic atmosphere to include natural elements such as wood and plants in order to become more environmentally conscious and help nurture employee’s overall health.
Along with this, the report expects workspaces to become more hospitable in order to inspire occupants and encourage more social interaction. This includes a wave of “wellness-inspired, sustainable design focused on designing a harmonious relationship between nature, buildings, and the people that inhabit them.”
