Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, says that returning to the pre-pandemic workplace is not in the cards for the company.
Despite Salesforce having massive offices around the world, including a 61-floor tower in San Francisco, Benioff said that workers are at home and “that’s fine.” Previously, Benioff anticipated between 50% and 60% of employees to work from home after the pandemic.
Last July, the company purchased Slack for $27.7 billion, its largest acquisition to date and proof that the company is ready to embrace hybrid work arrangements.
“We’re not going back, and that’s why we Slack,” said Benioff.
While acknowledging that many CEOs of major companies do not share the same viewpoint, Benioff cited companies who are operating remotely such as WordPress-owner Automattic, which has no physical headquarters but brings workers in monthly.
