Here Are The 15 Jobs With The Highest Demand Growth In 2021
  • Total American employment is expected to grow by 11.9 million jobs, increasing from 153.5 million to 165.4 million jobs through 2030.
  • Logistics & warehousing and IT industries are seeing the biggest boom of job opportunities with a surge in roles for Warehouse Workers, Delivery Drivers, Data Scientists, and Developers.
  • The job that showed the highest demand growth in 2021 was for warehouse workers, with a growth of 353.59%.

This past year, the U.S. labor market has gone through a major transformation and ended with a significant increase in advertised job vacancies across the country.

The labor crisis of 2021 resulted in a record number of workers leaving their job – tens of millions actually.

It would seem that there is a surplus of jobs now, and a possibility that many workers will be on the lookout for a new job in 2022.

“2021 was a year of transformation for the US labor market. In January 2021, employers cautiously navigated hiring needs, but by November employers had turned the taps on and were looking to take on a flood of new staff,” said Andrew Hunter, co-founder of job search engine Adzuna. “The vaccine rollout has boosted confidence, businesses are growing, and after reevaluating their work-life goals many Americans are switching jobs in ‘The Great Resignation.’”

According to a release from the US Bureau Labor Statistics, total employment is expected to grow by 11.9 million jobs, increasing from 153.5 million to 165.4 million jobs through 2030 – an overall growth rate of 7.7%. However, some jobs have a growth rate that far exceeds this level.

The number of advertised vacancies has ramped up, and job seekers looking to change company, role, or career have a wide array of options to choose from.

Logistics & warehousing and IT industries are seeing the biggest boom of job opportunities, with a surge in roles for Warehouse Workers, Delivery Drivers, Data Scientists, and Developers. Hospitality & Catering is also hiring at volume, with thousands of openings for Restaurant Managers and Cooks.

“The job market renaissance also shows in the huge rise in openings for Recruitment Consultants. With more people moving jobs than ever before, more recruitment specialists are needed to help fill urgent roles,” according to Hunter.
