Industrious is continuing to solidify its stance as one of the most competitive coworking players in the U.S.
The operator has signed a 15-year lease with Gordon Property Group to open a new 13,815 square foot location at 860 Broadway. Industrious will take up the top floor of the Flatiron District building, which was recently renovated in 2019.
“Located in highly accessible Union Square and overlooking the beautiful park, Industrious Union Square on Broadway will offer an idyllic location that suits the complex needs of working professionals and supports highly distributed companies with a desirable outpost in Manhattan,” said Doug Feinberg, senior director of real estate at Industrious.
Industrious’ expansion across the world has been an anomaly in the wake of volatility within the coworking market. The company, which currently has a presence in 65 cities around the world, sets itself apart by signing long-term management agreements with landlords.
This business model has proven to be a reliable and mutually beneficial one, leading other operators like WeWork to slowly integrate lease partnerships into their new deals.
