UK-based women-only coworking company The Co-Working Club will shutter its doors.
Based in Nottingham, the company first opened as an online business in 2019 and later opened its coworking space to give women professionals a place to be creative, productive and network with others.
“It’s no secret that things have been incredibly tough since we opened back in April what with a cost of living crisis and soaring energy bills making it a very difficult time to launch and run a business – never mind a bricks and mortar business!” said Jessica Berry, founder of the company.
The Co-Working Club will host its last day this week, while the space will continue to be offered as an event venue until January.
Niche coworking spaces have struggled in recent years to sustain their business model. Although women-oriented coworking spaces still exist and operate today, many have opened their doors to all in order to expand their membership base while still accommodating the unique needs of women.
