Dubai Turns Public Parks Into Workspaces With New “Work From Park” Initiative

Hot desks, creative studios, and event spaces are being introduced inside parks, allowing freelancers and small teams to work outdoors while still having access to office-style setups and connectivity.

Dubai Municipality has launched a new program that brings work infrastructure into public parks, allowing residents to use outdoor spaces for professional activities. The initiative, called “Work from Park,” is designed to combine office-style facilities with green, open-air environments as part of a broader effort to rethink how public space is used, according to Arabian Business.

The first location is set to open in May at Al Barsha Pond Park, featuring modular workspaces built with sustainability standards and integrated into the surrounding landscape. More sites are expected to roll out across Dubai throughout the year.

Public Parks Designed for Work, Not Just Leisure

The program introduces dedicated work zones inside parks, including hot desks, event spaces, podcast studios, and creative production areas. Access will be managed through Letswork’s digital platform, allowing users to book and use facilities on demand.

Dubai Municipality has partnered with Group AMANA and Letswork to develop and operate the spaces. Group AMANA, through its DuBox unit, will handle construction using off-site modular methods, which allow structures to be built elsewhere and assembled on site to reduce build time and material waste. Letswork will manage day-to-day operations and programming, including workshops, training sessions, and creator-focused events.

Part of Wider Urban and Economic Planning Goals

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s longer-term planning frameworks, including the Dubai 2040 Urban Plan, the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy, and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. These strategies focus on improving quality of life, expanding green infrastructure, and supporting more diverse economic activity.

Dubai Municipality said the program is aimed at entrepreneurs, freelancers, small businesses, and remote workers, and will operate through a public-private partnership model intended to encourage private sector participation in developing flexible work infrastructure.
