Automobile maker Ford Motor has once again pushed back its return-to-work plans to March as the future of the pandemic remains uncertain and a new variant emerges.  

The company said it will begin a pilot reenter phase for some employees in February and March.

Prior to this announcement, Ford had revealed that most of its salaried employees in the U.S. would need to have received a Covid-19 vaccination by January 4.  

“The state of COVID-19 virus remains fluid, and despite the success of our ongoing safety protocols and increased vaccination rates, we are shifting the start date of the hybrid work model to March,” Ford said in a statement.

Many companies are readjusting their return-to-office plans in wake of the Omicron variant and the uncertainty it brings. At the moment, experts are unsure whether this variant will have the same impact that Delta has had on the world.
