According to a new report career site Ladders Inc., remote work for high-paying jobs are expected to grow even more this year despite companies attempting to bring workers back into the office.
The findings showed that over one-quarter of workers in the U.S. will be fully remote by the end of 2022, which is up from the 18% seen at the end of 2021.
“This life-changing shift to remote work is progressing even more rapidly than anyone thought it would,” said Marc Cenedella, CEO of Ladders Inc.
Cenedella added that anyone who believes workers are coming back to the office this year are “fooling themselves.”
The Ladders report shows that these opportunities will be especially prevalent in industries that focus on technical and organizational skills, such as engineers or project managers.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that a record 4.5 million Americans left their jobs in November, indicating that the Great Resignation is still making a huge impact on the current job market.
As a result, companies have revamped their employee benefits to include flexible/remote work arrangements, increased wages, and other factors that focus on ensuring a healthier work-life balance.
