American Express Delays Office Return Again

After originally planning to bring employees back into the office starting January 26, American Express has announced that it will delay its return once again.

Once again, American Express has delayed its return to the office in the U.S. due to rising cases of Covid-19.

Previously, the financial firm planned to bring workers back into the workspace beginning January 24. 

However, now the company is being more vague with its return strategy, stating that it will provide employees with a two-week notice before ushering employees back.

The company has been dedicated to offering employees a hybrid arrangement when they do return. 

“We have seen an exponential increase in the spread of the omicron variant across the world,” said Steve Squeri, CEO of American Express. “We have decided to delay the launch of AmEx Flex in the U.S. until we feel comfortable bringing a large number of colleagues back together in the office.” 

Employees will also be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before being allowed to work in the firm’s U.S. offices, in which they will be provided 12 hours of paid time off in order to do so.
