WeWork has announced the launch of a new initiative that aims to help small businesses, startups, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs recover from the pandemic in New York City.
The WeWork Growth Campus NYC will subsidize $25 million in workspaces across 11 WeWork locations in the city, with its main hub being at WeWork Gotham Center in Queens.
WeWork is partnering with all five boroughs’ Chambers of Commerce, as well as Tech:NYC to launch the initiative.
“WeWork is thrilled to launch the first U.S. WeWork Growth Campus in New York City,” said Chris Ferzli, VP of Global Public Affairs at WeWork. “As a New York-founded and headquartered company, we are committed to helping the city’s diverse and growing entrepreneurial and nonprofit communities thrive. We’re grateful to have the support of City Hall and are excited to again partner with the city’s Chambers of Commerce to help bolster economic activity across New York.”
Members of WeWork Growth Campus NYC will have access to mentorships, networking opportunities, educational programming, as well as WeWork Labs, which offers virtual acceleration support, online expert advice, and exclusive members benefits and discounts
In order to be eligible, applicants must be based in New York and be founded within the last five years. Startups must also have fewer than 100 employees, be bootstrapped, or be in pre-seed funding rounds, while also having a turnover of less than $2 million.
