Flexible workspace operator rent24 is doing what no other competitor in the industry has done - opening its first metaverse location. The company currently has 70 different locations across Asia, Europe, and the US. However, its metaverse endeavors will completely alter its business model and perhaps change the course of the industry as a whole. “The pandemic has changed the way we collaborate and the acceptance for virtual work has seen massive growth in popularity,” said Robert Bukvić, founder of rent24. “Now is the time to create the perfect virtual environment where people can work and collaborate safely while being socially connected with their coworkers.” To make this expansion into the metaverse, rent24 will partner with metaverse company PRIMARY, making it one of the first alliances of its kind in the real estate industry. “Our decision of moving into the metaverse does not only give rent24 a new strategic direction but a new business dimension,” said Bukvić. “In fact, there is no physical location in this world that can host millions of people. In our workspace in the Metaverse, on the other hand, it is easy to connect with an endless number of talents and business partners,” says Bukvić. The race to develop metaverse-related products and services has ramped up in the last several months, with companies from all industries looking for a piece of the pie. However, rent24’s plans could influence how competitors within the flexible workspace industry shape their future business plans.
