While an incoming recession and falling profit margins might deter companies from looking for new employees, the war for talent is fiercer than ever. 

As the global workforce transitions to a new normal, it has become critical for leaders to hire workers that make this migration as seamless as possible.

A new survey of 5,000 tech workers conducted by remote team builder Talent500 shows two of key factors that attract top talent: work-life balance and value alignment.

Following what some call “pandemic epiphanies,” 87% of respondents stated they were seeking to switch jobs in 2022 in order to have a position that supports their mental, physical, and financial health.

Additionally, the survey showed that tech workers have rejected jobs for three reasons: lack of communication, limited transparency in selection, and interview times.   

What this indicates is that job openings and lavish amenities no longer cut it — employees want the hiring process to reflect their desires too.   

In fact, 90% of respondents said that two to three rounds of interviews are ideal, while a Robert Half survey showed that 62% of prospects lose interest in a position when they don’t hear back within two weeks of an interview
