Apple Wants Workers In The Office Three Days A Week Starting September

The cycle of established return-to-office dates and the inevitable delay has restarted.  

Apple employees near the company’s headquarters in Santa Clara County have been told to come back into the office three days per week starting September. Staff will be asked to come into the office on Tuesday and Thursday, with individual teams choosing the third day. 

Apple has been gung-ho about employees being back in the office since the onset of the pandemic.  

After countless delays, the company brought workers back into the offices two days a week this summer. However, its original plan of its three-day workweek was delayed last spring due to the most recent Covid spike. 

According to Craig Federighi, head of software at Apple, September will mark the “true start” of the company’s hybrid work model. 

Apple has not been shy about its intentions to bring workers back into the office, but employees have expressed distaste for what they believe is a rigid policy. A Blind survey from last May found that 76% of staff on the platform were not happy with the company’s stance on hybrid work.  

While the office return is not widespread across the company, staff have predicted high attrition if Apple moves forward with its current plans.
