One of the largest players in tech is taking yet another cost-cutting move as a recession precaution.
Meta has listed its 113,585 square foot building in Fremont, California for sublease following its massive layoffs last month, which included 144 workers in Fremont and over 2,500 in the Bay Area.
This is part of Meta’s plan to spend billions to slash its office footprint over the next year.
However, the company still maintains around 1.4 million square feet of office space in Fremont.
“The future of work is here and we’re embracing it at Meta. The past few years have brought new possibilities around the role of the office, and we are prioritizing making focused, balanced investments to support our most strategic long-term priorities and lead the way in creating the workplace of the future,” said Tracy Clayton, a spokesperson for Meta.
