As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly transforms the workforce, top business schools are overhauling their curricula to ensure graduates are equipped with AI skills widely in-demand by employers.Â
According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, prominent business schools including Wharton, Columbia, Duke and American University are moving swiftly to integrate AI instruction throughout their core MBA and undergraduate coursework. Â
The trend suggests that universities and higher education facilities that offer training in AI tools, like ChatGPT, will soon be essential for many professionals studying business. These programs are training students to use the technology while also critically evaluating its subtle limitations.Â
Students within these updated programs will learn to use AI to rapidly generate and pressure-test business ideas, prepare for negotiations and presentations, and even aid in the development of coding skills. Â
American University’s Kogod School of Business, for example, is integrating AI into 20 classes next year, spanning in subjects from accounting to marketing classes. Â
40% of prospective business students now view AI proficiency as essential to their business education. By proactively embracing AI classes, top MBA programs are taking proactive steps to position their graduates for success in a future workforce that will thoroughly be reshaped by the emerging technology.Â
