Space 530 is a deluxe full-serviced office, showroom, and coworking environment made to fit the fashion industry needs.
The bi-level (lower + upper floor) workspace has become the home of various emerging and well-established fashion brands, as well as creative and fashion tech companies. Jackie Schletter, Marketing Manager of Space 530, explains how “the open layout, white walls, and polished concrete floors of each unit enables clients to design the space in a way that represents and reflects their brand image.”
The space was designed by Debra Larsen, founder of TechSpace and WorkHouse NYC. When designing Space 530, Debra explains how she wanted to create a “beautiful and modern space that would allow brands to give the space their own (brand) look and feel.”
Bob Savitt, owner of the building comments that, “with Space 530’s co-working solution and on demand conference room services, we now have a complete eco system in 530 Seventh Avenue ranging from solo entrepreneurs to large international companies.”
Currently, Space 530 hosts 40 brands and companies from the fashion and creative industries. Names like Zappos, Max Mara, Maison MRKT, Melissa Odabash, and Phase Eight have used the space either to set up their operations, host a fashion show, or to experiment with new collections.
On this last aspect, Jackie mentions how Space 530 has helped various brands test out their new collections. “For fashion, it (the space) allows brands to experiment with a new collection that has a different identity from the parent brand.” Additionally, she goes on to say how their space has attracted international and west coast based brands, since they can rent out space in the showroom for specific market appointments: “They are able to ship their product in advance and have a plug and play setup in a well-maintained space.”
Part of the success of Space 530 is due to the fact that people have changed how they work as much as they’ve changed how they shop. Online shopping has become a norm and, as Debra explains, this has led clothing companies to realize that they no longer need to have big stores to keep high amounts of products stored in the back. Buyers can go into a store or showroom and try on the clothes to later order them online; reducing location, overhead, and staff costs.
Space 530 has a spacious, non-cubicle layout and they offer a coworking a
nd virtual office membership. The space also has designated quiet areas and private meeting rooms; the latter being used for business pitches, photoshoots, product launches, and press previews.
With high ceilings, 16-foot windows, and polished concrete floors it’s no surprise that Space 530 has become a prefered fashion show location. Plus, having access to a rooftop cocktail lounge has provided Space 530 clients with the perfect scenario for post-event networking.

You’d think breaking into the heart of the fashion world would be enough. Not for Space 530, which besides hosting 40 fashion brands and companies alike, also co-hosts the New York Fashion Tech Lab (NYFTL) accelerator program. According to Jackie, this partnership has allowed Space 530 to boost its engagement with the ever-growing fashion tech community.
