Cuckooz Nest is a typical, trendy coworking space filled with minimalist furniture and houseplants, but what sets it apart is its onsite childcare services.
Based in Farringdon, London, the coworking firm has 21 nursery places and 36 desk spaces.
Although it launched less than a year ago, the company already has a waiting list according to co-founder Charlie Rosier.
Rosier launched Cuckooz Nest to create a place for women to stay in work and wanting to go back to work after having her own child.
“I didn’t want to give up my 15-year career for having a child,” Rosier said.
Now, the company has plans to open two new locations, indicating strong demand for childcare within coworking spaces.
The huge shortage of childcare services is most likely due to high costs as it struggles to keep up with the changing workforce. For example, Elizabeth Moody-Stuart had to close the doors of her coworking space Officrèche that provided a network for parents.
