JPA Design has completed its design for Fintech Hive at DIFC, a 350 square meter coworking space that promises to offer an office for startups to test, develop and adapt solutions for financial service and insurance industries.
DIFC Properties recruited JPA Design to create a space for tech innovators of financial leaders.
The space features 33 work areas, small meeting rooms, phone booths, breakout areas and a 200-person auditorium for seminars.
The team at JPA Design was challenged to create a flexible and multi-functional space to create a sense of community.
The project revolved around three elements: technology; the stock market; and the motherboard. Similar to circuits of a motherboard, the trims on the floor connect the central area to the workspaces. Data charts line the walls and lockers are different heights to reflect that of a bar graph.
Nature also plays a big role in the space design as it it laced with plants, timber finishes, an exposed ceiling and plentiful natural light.
