Workplaces are evolving rapidly due to advances in remote technology, allowing employers to tailor a more flexible environment for employees.
A Lenovo survey found that 76% of workers with no commute due to working from home are overall satisfied with their job.
Technology has played a huge role in transforming the workplace and how attainable remote working can be — from cloud software to video conferencing.
“Employees want to work in conditions that are right for them and technology is a huge part of that,” said Preben Fjeld, general manager of Lenovo UK & Ireland. “Change is being driven by younger generations, but if deployed properly, the benefits of flexible working can be felt by everybody.”
Flexible working is not expected to have an impact on businesses, but business leaders have taken note that flexible options are key to attracting and retaining talent, as well as boosting morale.
Although workplaces are expected to shift towards remote working, it is vital that staff has the proper training on how to manage their work and people remotely.
