An efficient workspace is key to boosting productivity, engagement and maintaining satisfied employees. One company making it a point to help organizations create their most efficient workspace is Australian company ColourSpace, an arts social enterprise that accomplishes this through the inclusion of artwork.
According to research from the Business Committee for the Arts, 94% of respondents said that the inclusion of art in workspaces enhanced their work environment.
Since its start, the company has contributed about $45,000 in revenue to artists through royalties and sales, as well as 10% of their revenue to art programs for regional communities.
Furthermore, flexible workspaces play a significant role in creating efficient workspaces thanks to their collaborative, immersive design. Coworking firm CreativeCubes.Co is another example of how creating an efficiently designed workspace can create the perfect hub for productivity and creativity.
“Cramming an end user into a small glass box with cheap furniture is no one’s idea of an inspiring workspace and in no way is this conducive to productivity or wellness,” said Jonathan Wright, Head of Flexible Workspace Services at CreativeCubes. “Occupiers will begin to look at less-tangible metrics such as wellness, staff retention and productivity, rather than the obvious financial benefits of squeezing space densities.”
