BROOKLYN, NY (October 9, 2020) – Industrious — the highest-rated workplace provider in the industry — today announced its partnership with LIVWRK, a real estate company focused on mix-use urban development, to operate a distinctive coworking location at 1000 Dean Street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Industrious will take over a 21,100-square-foot space previously operated by the flexible office provider Ignitia, located in an historic commercial building in a thriving neighborhood of entrepreneurs.
Industrious Brooklyn – 1000 Dean Street is scheduled to open on November 23, offering attractive, low-commute workplace options for residents looking for an alternative to working from home. Together with its Prospect Heights location, 1000 Dean Street marks Industrious’ second permanent space in Brooklyn and brings its total New York City footprint to roughly 360,000 square-feet. The shared workplace provider, named the fastest-growing company in the industry by Inc. Magazine, has signed, opened or taken over more than 600,000 square-feet of new space nationwide so far in 2020.
“This is truly an ideal location for Industrious as it expands our spaces to workers in Crown Heights, Prospect Heights and beyond,” said Douglas Feinberg, Director of Real Estate for Industrious. “LIVWRK is the perfect partner to invest in mixed-use communities, where people are looking to break the work-from-home routine without having to face a lengthy commute. We’re excited to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood and to bring flex office space into the mix of all that 1000 Dean Street has to offer.”
Built during the 1920’s as an automotive service station for Dodge, Plymouth, and later Studebaker vehicles, 1000 Dean Street is an historic 150,000-square-foot commercial building that was purchased by LIVWRK in 2019. After undergoing a complete gut renovation designed by Selldorf Architects, the building is now home to a diverse mix of small tenants.
“We’re very excited to welcome Industrious to 1000 Dean Street,” said Asher Abehsera, CEO & Founder of LIVWRK. “We know that Industrious’ commitment to flexibility and community will complement the thriving ecosystem of creative firms, production companies, nonprofits and other businesses that already call the building home.”
Industrious Brooklyn – 1000 Dean Street will occupy the building’s ground floor and comprise 52 private suites, four conference rooms, seven phone rooms, a cafe with prepackaged food and beverage options, and wellness room. Located in central Brooklyn, the space joins Industrious’ Prospect Heights location in the borough as well as Industrious at Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, a first-of-its-kind hotel workplace which launched in July and will now be available indefinitely.
