FlexTal’s new survey of workers and freelancers in the U.S. offers insight into what professionals want in the future in terms of flexibility, the office, and their careers.
Partnering with Entrepreneur Media, FlexTal surveyed around 700 participants during the second quarter of 2021 and found that workers have a newfound understanding of what they want from the workplace, as well as how to get it.
According to the findings, only 33% of respondents said they plan on staying at their current job, while 40% stated they are considering leaving their current position. This confirms what professionals are willing to do in order to maintain their remote and flexible arrangements.
However, some workers who are leaving their jobs aren’t going to another company: they are delving into the world of freelance. In fact, 40% of respondents said they would leave their current job to pursue a freelance career.
In short, the survey finds that the crux of decision-making for many professionals has been the accessibility of flexible working. If employers refuse, they greatly risk losing top talent who are happy to seek new means of employment.
