What started off as a menial Twitter joke may change the course of coworking spaces in San Francisco. After WePark’s successful trial of offering a coworking space situated in an actual parking space made headlines all over the world, the founder Victor Pontis revealed another event is planned for May 11.
Despite what seems to be a statement on the status of pricing in the area, Pontis asserts that WePark is not comment on the costs of living and working, but how the city prioritizes cars over people.
“[I]t shows that the real estate we use for parking can be put to a lot of other uses,” said Pontis.
Despite claiming that WePark is not a business, their website now advertises for organizers, a webmaster, and a social media team.
