Coworking spaces are popping up across the country, and the Midwest is no exception.
Spaces, owned by IWG Plc, has just opened its newest location in Columbus, Ohio, offering 39,000 sq ft of flexible workspace.
In keeping with the sector’s trend for top-notch amenities, the new space includes a wrap-around outdoor terrace in addition to coworking and meeting room space.
It also brings a wellness room and fitness center to the new space.
Michael Berretta, vice president of network development for IWG, said that Columbus was a natural choice for Spaces as it has a diverse array of business types and users.
“When we were evaluating spaces for coworking in the United States, it was relatively easy for us to decide in which cities we wanted to put a flag in and develop over the last two years,” Berretta said. “Columbus was on the short list.”
He added, “The reaction so far in Columbus has been great. We had a lot of pent-up demand. And our design is more contemporary, very open and light. It’s a pleasant place where people can interact with each other.”
