Coworking firm The Commons values its sustainability over cost efficiency — and for good reason. Although the company spends 35% more on electricity bills, co-founder and CEO Cliff Ho said its important for members to know that “their devices and buildings are powered by green energy.”
More so, there are no plastic cups or straws in The Commons offices and the team tries to be mindful about educating members on managing waste.
Currently, the flexible office provider is expanding into Melbourne’s QV building, which will feature a quiet zone library, amphitheatre, indoor golf simulator, and a sensory room.

“They have their own culture, they won’t communicate with others [in the coworking space],” said Ho. “It’s just not for us. It requires huge capital.”
