The Durst Organization, a well-known New York City landlord, is throwing its hat into the flexible office ring with its “Durst Ready” brand.
The new operation is set to launch next week and will offer workspaces between 2,500 and 25,000 square feet. Leases will be between six months and 15 years and will feature locations at One World Trade Center, 114 West 47th St., 733 Third Ave. and 1155 Sixth Ave.
“[Companies] go to a WeWork or one of their competitors because they don’t want the hassle of the fit-out,” said Jordan Barowitz, a Durst spokesperson. “That’s a place that, with a little bit of ingenuity, we can compete.”
Just last year, WeWork was in talks to take up space at Durst’s One World Trade Center, but the deal fell through. Durst Ready was not reason though — the firm heard from several potential tenants and could not find the right partner so it decided to go it alone.
