Tenants of Corporate Suites were evicted from its offices at 1001 Sixth Avenue in New York City last week.
A business owner who was present said that he and about 60 other Corporate Suites tenants, which subleases office space in six locations across Midtown, were told to pack their belongings and leave the building in 15 minutes.
“People were nervous. It’s people’s livelihood, you know?” said the business owner. “To get stuff out is not a pleasant thing, especially if you want to operate a business.”
City marshal Robert Renzulli said the eviction was due to nonpayment of rent by the tenant.
In 2015, Corporate Suites was ranked as the fifth-largest office space company in New York.
