The Modern Office Study from researchers at Olivet Nazarene University found that office design and expectations in the workplace are changing dramatically.
The study revealed that design is changing to reflect the evolution of work culture, particularly as we move towards a more collaborative atmosphere.
The report, which surveyed over 2,000 American workers, found that 77% of American workers are happy with their current office setup and those in private offices are the happiest at work.
Additionally, respondents with private offices reported the highest levels of productivity with those in cubicles reporting the lowest.
In terms of working from home, 58% of workers said they are less productive when working from home due to digital distractions, difficulty communicating with colleagues and not known when to sign off at the end of the day.
