Despite the economy still reeling from the world’s largest lockdown, coworking companies in India are still optimistic.
Many industry experts are banking on demand for these flexible workspaces as companies look to maintain physical distancing guidelines. This means organizations will need more space per desk, leading to them leasing out more office space.
While some businesses will likely allow workers to continue working from home, others could explore a new “Work Near Home” policy that keeps employees from having to use public transportation to travel to dense cities.
Although office space demand remained largely nonexistent throughout April and May and coworking operators hit the brakes on expansion plans, data suggests that there will be an uptick in the near future.
Moving forward, if coworking companies want to boost the confidence of potential members, they will need to enhance their cleaning regimens and support businesses that have suffered throughout the pandemic.
