The talent wars between Apple and Meta are intensifying, leading Apple to offer new bonuses in order to retain their current employees.
Last week, Apple told some of its engineers in silicon design, hardware, and certain software groups of the out-of-cycle bonuses that are being issued as restricted stock units and vest over four years.
Bonuses ranked from $50,000 to $180,000, with many engineers receiving around $80,000, $100,000, or $120,000 in shares according to reports.
Meta has hired nearly 100 former Apple engineers over the last few months, ramping up the competition between the two technology giants.
However, Apple has also reportedly hired Andrea Schubert, Meta’s communication and public relations lead for its AR products.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently informed employees that they will receive a $1,000 bonus to be put towards remote working tools as the company delays its return-to-office strategy due to growing cases of Covid-19.
