Colombia has emerged as one of the hottest digital nomad destinations in recent years.
As a result, coworking spaces are making their presence known in order to support and accommodate traveling professionals from all over the world.
In addition to the growing number of coworking spaces in the country, the Colombian government is about to begin offering its digital nomad visa.
There are many reasons why workers may choose to temporarily live in Colombia. The country is known for its vibrant nightlife, annual comfortable weather and low cost of living, but perhaps one of the most notable perks is being in the same time zone as the U.S., making distributed working simpler.
Through the new visa, digital nomads will have the ability to live in Colombia for up to two years. Workers must have the following qualifications to gain access to the visa, including:
- A valid passport
- Proof of digital nomad status
- Bank statements proving they make at least Colombia’s minimum wage ($684 per month)
- Proof of health insurance
The Colombia Digital Nomad Visa will open for applications this October.
