Seasonal hiring is at its peak, and with that comes a perfect opportunity for professionals to find temporary work, a side hustle or a potential new future career.
Taking analysis of 26,000 paid job listings, LinkedIn’s Economic Graph team was able to determine the top 10 seasonal jobs this year, which included:
- Salesperson
- Driver
- Cashier
- Retail salesperson
- Receiving associate
- Sales specialist
- Retail sales specialist
- Stock associate
- Store associate
- Truck driver
Unsurprisingly, the majority of in-demand jobs during the holiday season involve the retail industry as consumer demand hits annual highs.
Among the largest retailers hiring salespeople are Target, JCPenney’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and Michaels.
Pay ranges depended on geography, with a Target seasonal salesperson in Iowa earning $15 an hour and $19 an hour in Mountain View, California.
In order to land one of these jobs, the study says that the top three skills needed are sales, communication and time management.
